
For at least the last ten years, Collette Herbert has become one of the most respected and sought-after Tango figures in the North American continent, first as a performer, then as a teacher and successful choreographer, her Tango with Collette Performance Group opening in 2012 the Southern California Emmy’s Award ceremony.
With former partner R Council, she won the 2003 USA IDO Championship, a competition held in Miami under a jury composed by the cream of the Buenos Aires Tango Masters of the day. In 2005, and also partnering with Mr. Council, she was finalist in the Buenos Aires “Mundiales” in the Salon category and semi-finalists in the Stage category.
She has traveled extensively and covered almost every state in the USA giving workshops to literary thousands of Americans.
Today, Collette’s home base is San Diego, where she is teaching and coaching a new generation of tango dancers and performers. Colette is contributing to building up a better understanding and dancing of the Argentine Tango in San Diego.
